Logo Design, Test Project (Unfinished Project)
by Nathan Roman
The series of logos created below are inspired by moments in my life. Names of random companies were given to help further define the moment. Each design had multiple iteration from the intial formations put to paper, with each culmination of the new one stronger than the last.
A famous writer once said, "The first draft is crap." I believe that to be true. Making something from simple description is a process. A process started by creating our first thought and then reshaping the form to fit the world in which the final design belongs. Each form created here started from a simple sentence that described the meaning. A story is necessary to formulate any thought, any idea, or any feeling towards designing the best form that creates meaning in the world. Design is a form of storytelling that has no words, but speaks for itself. I believe design is expression beyond normal means, a formulation of recognizable shapes with emotion to keep an everlasting imprint on the observer.
Designed by Nathan Roman are six logos with a background color that helps cement the form each graphic is meant to represent. The file type are gif as I work to complete this projects second phase. This is a test to see the results work on each form of the portfolio page.
